Maria Sapio was born in Italy and grew up in Germany, developing a rich and multifaced personality through the combined influence of the two cultures. At the end of her studies in Fashion and Knit Design at Polimoda in Florence, she envolved her experience through collaborations with numerous companies in knitwear and yarn industries. After many years spent exploring and innovating in the art of knitwear trends, in 2018 Maria Sapio presented her first KnitCouture collection at White show in Milan. During the same year, Mario Boselli honorary president of Camera Nazionale della Moda italiana, recognized her the Taomoda Award as Contemporary Fashion Brand. Nature as architectures are the sources of inspiration for her Knit Couture collection S|S 2020. The textures of the garments are soft abstractions of the geometries present in nature, created with printed and shaded yarns like watercolor paintings, light and dynamic like butterfly wings. The raw materials used are totally sustainable and obtained with respect for animals and the workmanship follows an ethic that focuses on experience and italian know-how. The distinctive touch of Maria Sapio KnitCouture collections is the symbiosis between tecnology and nature: a real work of art, created with new generation yarns and a complex development that combines hand-knitting and weaves made with advanced electronic machines. Maria Sapio KnitCouture S|S 2020 tells an avantgarde fairy tale for women who have the same strong and fragile spirit as the flowers that grow on the rocks and aim to sophisticated femininity.
