This historic and important Italian company took its first steps more than a century ago. Calzaturificio Romano Martegani in fact has its roots back in 1891: synonymous with high quality fashion, it has occupied and still occupies a unique place in the Italian footwear sector.
It all begins with Pietro Martegani and his wife Ida, who decide to start a shoe factory in Legnano: in 1911 the factory already employed about fifty workers. Despite the harsh historical period, the company has always had the strength and the desire to grow, consolidating over time, not only on national but also international markets. Established also in the States as a synonym of luxury and Italian craftsmanship, the brand with the name and management of Romano Martegani is making progress.
Romano Martegani conducts the business up to the threshold of the new millennium, keeping the image and the target of production unchanged. The collaboration with the young brothers Corti, Aldo and Giancarlo was then born, who were entrusted with the external production of some lines: boasting twenty years of experience in the Brianza-based company of their father, Mario (Cortina1955), they became the new partners for the relaunch of the Martegani company, in a rapidly changing market.
The footwear brand, with elegance and exclusivity, combines contemporary shapes and lines with an English style: derby, college, chelsea boots are some of the Martegani cult. The brand, which still produces with the same passion and the same craftsmanship that inspired the two founders Pietro and Ida Martegani, has found the right mix between tradition and innovation.
