Inspired by the most recent experiences of travel and escapism, before the long lockdown period, the designer represents her visual reworking and consequent translation into fashion. The city that never sleeps, the hyperstratified city that must be read vertically and horizontally: you must enjoy the majesty of its monumental architectures that develop in height without neglecting the kaleidoscope and overwhelming cultural mix & match that crosses it daily, tracing its DNA.
And just like the city, Valentina Poltronieri's FW Collection 2022 also intrigues you, captures you, leads you to abandon yourself to discovery. Motifs and lines drawn from street culture are mixed with glam accents, with the typical Upper East Side attitude.
The palette, the chromatic accents, the decorations of garments made entirely in Italy are to animate, to ignite the emotions. The colors of the city are reflected in a collection with a dynamic soul. From the blue with purple reflections of the glass that cover the very high buildings to the yellow of the iconic New York taxis, from the green in the chromatic tip of the road signs to the gray that represents the concrete and the streets, the unstoppable movement of people.
The fabrics sometimes evoke the luminous effects of the city and in contrast to the cold winter season that characterizes it, it provides very warm and comfortable textures. Sweaters in wool jersey, padded raincoats, eco-furs, the bling effect and the sparkle of the Big Apple are instead entrusted to sequins, iridescent fabrics and lurex.
